Do you think it makes a sound? This is a question that scientists and several others have been arguing with for years.

For me, I think that it does make a sound.

Hmm...that's a good question. Well, if the sound of the tree creeking after it breaks off its roots or base counts, then yes it does make a sound. BUT if scientest are talking about the sound it creates when it lands on the ground then no. The sounds are actually coming from the ground and surrounding areas. (I think I just confused you all, lol!)

I knew I would confuse someone...I was going to repeat a spiel about sound waves that I learned in school but nevermind, lol!

Definition of a sound: the particular auditory effect produced by a given cause. A sound doesn't have to be heard for it to be classified as a sound.

Asteroids in space right now aren't mute right now, are they? No, they are making sounds of colliding and just moving through space, yet we can't hear that because it is so far away.

The tree makes a sound, but no one is there to hear it. It's not like the tree falls and doesn't produce sound because that just doesn't make sense.
